Some Like It Hoth

Best. Title. Ever.

More tonight. :)

  1. Hahaha so great.

So basically, Hurley's trying to rewrite Empire Strikes Back so that after "Join me... I am your father," Luke says "OK, sure, I'll give you a second chance."

Personally, though, I have nothing against the ewoks.

Who were those guys in the van? What's in the shadow of the statue? Where's Dan been? Did Roger really believe Jack?

Are we going to see the big Swan 'incident' soon? How does Miles' dad (Marvin Candle or whoever) die? Why can Miles hear whispers from the past lives of dead bodies? (Whispers...)

Is the Orchid being used as the best garbage can EVER? Stuff things (ahem, bodies) in, and who knows/who cares when/where it comes out?

I'm very curious about seeing the Oceanic Six from a different perspective next week. Whose?

  2. Wasn't the guy in the van the same guy who asked Frank about the shadow of the statue on the beach of the last episode? They could be in with Ben, that would explain why they seem to know the island and why they didn't want Miles to join Whidmore, and why Ben offered Miles 3.3 million dollars when Ben was being held captive.

Also they guy who died because his filling went through his head may have been working at the place that we saw briefly a while back. The place where we saw Daniel and there were diggers who reached a very magnetic wall. the wall could have pulled his filling out through the top of his head.

  3. I'm curious to see if Naomi or Keamy had been to the island before since apparently everyone else has. I don't think they are working for Ben because he didn't seem to interested in the stuff they were moving around on the beach and there was no recognition, I wonder if there is a 3rd party of high powered outside people, and how they knew to get on that plane as well to get to the island.

  4. Toph, as you brought up with our dearest mother, Peter Pan fits surprisingly well. I'm a believer (at least to a certain degree).

  5. Great episode. I'll take a stab at those questions, Toph:

Who were those guys in the van?
Members of a new third group that will fight Widmore and Ben for the island.

What's in the shadow of the statue?
That has to be a little riddle, just like Desmond's snowman riddle, but probably also a reference to the people who built the 4-toed statue.

    Where's Dan been?
Soon after he flashed back to 1974 with Sawyer and Juliet, he left the island on the sub. Then he went to Ann Arbor and got a job as a Dharma scientist. So it makes sense that he recognizes Miles when he gets back to the island in 1977, and it also makes sense that Miles is surprised to see him.

    Did Roger really believe Jack?
Nope. There's more drama if Roger exposes the Losties at some point.

Are we going to see the big Swan 'incident' soon?
Probably. I say that it will involve Jughead.

How does Miles' dad (Marvin Candle or whoever) die?
    In the purge, right?

Why can Miles hear whispers from the past lives of dead bodies? (Whispers...)
No good idea here, except that his dad passed the special ability along to Miles.

Is the Orchid being used as the best garbage can EVER?
Yes--it's especially good for getting rid of dead bodies when you don't want to bury them on the island and have them come back to life. Burying a dead body in a living island is like putting a near-dead body inside of a tauntaun.
